Gauge Fitting

I have a Cyclone with no on board pressure gauge and wish to fit one. The inletting has been partially done by the factory so will be easy to finish.
Before I kick off however I just want to check that I am about to remove the correct tatty brass screw plug, and all the pain that that may bring, Tis the one circled in red...
And no I haven't yet tried despite the bad state of the head!

yep , thats where it goes ..

drill a partial pilot hole then use a (easy out ) stud extractor .. if you can see locktite on the brass plug heat it with a soldering iron first to soften

An electric heat gun(on low) or pinch a hairdryer off a female, these also work well.

Not very, well...
I drilled a pilot hole for my smallest easy-out, heated the area up with a hot air gun.
Gently screwed the easy-out until it bit firmly and carried on twisting.
It snapped.
Decided to forget the whole thing as long as the easy-out was air tight.
It was but now I have an air leak from air bottle through the barrel, I'm guessing there is muck stopping a valve from closing.
I have just stripped the rilfe down using 'riz's' strip down guide and am now drinking coffee thinking about my next move.

oooook ..... thats going to be tricky one to repair ..
a soldering iron is needed to soften high strength loctite ! heat gun wont do it as the heat needs to be on a concentrated area ....
try carefully dremeling around the easy out with a small engraving tool to loosen it !!!!!!

if you get the easy out removed drill a larger hole heat the plug with a soldering iron (small gas soldering is best ) and gently apply pressure with heat still on the plug

Funny how minds think a like.
I used a Dremel and a diamond burr to gently carve out a wide slot.
Then with some heat and the longest, widest flat blade I own and some blisters.
I managed to unscrew the plug!
It seems the easyout broke through the plug end though so I now just need to
Clean out the main valve assembly.
Any tips on removing the air bottle adaptor or is that heat, force and luck too?

I used a Dremel and a diamond burr to gently carve out a wide slot.
Then with some heat and the longest, widest flat blade I own and some blisters.
I managed to unscrew the plug!
It seems the easyout broke through the plug end though so I now just need to

just put the action in a padded vice and use the correct size spanner to open the adaptor ..

All done, swapped seals out too and re lubed.
Now, just the bipod to mount!
