Hens teeth!

Have been looking for a s/h Typhoon in .177 - there's been nothing for sale on any of the forums or trading sites that I've looked on, so it looks like having to get a new one - in fact, there are very few FX's in .177 for sale full stop - certainly looks as though those of us with them, want to hold onto them (& who can blame us????) I know it took me 2 years of looking before I found my Cyclone.

I had to get one in .22 when I was first looking to buy one and, although the rifle was excellent, I was never really happy with that calibre and trajectory.

After 2 years I managed to get hold of a BTAS regulated .177 Logun Solo (same as FX Typhoon) and I've now had it for over 5 years. I've put something like 30,000 pellets through it and it never once let me down. The regulator has just started to show signs of needing a service (which I'm in the middle of doing now) but the rifle itself is still as accurate and reliable as ever.

The FX Typhoon is supposed to be a cheap entry model into the world of PCP air rifles but I can honestly say that it can hold its own against any rifle I've ever used in over 55 years of airgunning... and I've used a lot!

I've had a .22 on loan, and, to be quite honest, while I was looking at getting a Wildcat for winter use, am now looking at a synth Typhoon, I think it's lighter at 2.2kg + scope and fairly sure that it'll be just as accurate (not to mention about half the price! ;) )

Yep, definitely going for a Typhoon, scrubbed the order on the Wildcat, and replaced it with one for a .177 synth Typhoon (actually found one for sale s/h, trouble is, is that it'd mean a days travelling to get it & no guarantee that the shop will hold it for me (also no photos, so could be a dog))

Glad you managed to get sorted, I'm certain you'll have many happy years with it. I wouldn't swap my one for a brand new Daystate!

Thanks, must admit that that's the way I feel about the Cyclone, if the Typhoon gives as good a service, then I'll be a very happy chappy, though it's probably going to be passed to my youngest son (he's after one as well) & I'll keep looking for a synth stocked one for Winter use (glad all this overtime I've been getting is being used for something worthwhile! ).
