BSA Airsporter S

Yes, all kinds of non-FX airguns have a place here. Do consider the proper locations for these discussions though.

BSA Airsporter S

This is my old .22 caliber GN series BSA Airsporter S, I bought this used back in 1990 mainly because I liked the stock. It's been on long term loan to a family member and will remain so until they no longer need it, I brought it back to give it a service last week and it's been very entertaining shooting it again after all these years. Considering how old the design is it's actually pretty smooth to shoot for a springer. The original iron sights were removed because I couldn't get on with them and it looked more streamlined when the scope was fitted, the barrel was also shortened and recrowned by a gunsmith to compensate for the added silencer length to keep it manageable.

The scope is a made in Japan Weihrauch 3-9x40 duplex (30/30), the AO markings are in meters. The scope mount is specifically for the narrow slots on early BSA's. The silencer is an Air Logic (made in England) Whisperer WSA62 and it does a good job despite it's small size.

Thanks Riz, it's given a lot of shooting enjoyment over the years, I had it at around 11.4 ft/lbs originally but I dropped down to around 10 / 11 (depending on pellet) for easier cocking and smoother shooting.
