Hi, I have a forest green, laminate, in .22 which is due for delivery by the end of the month.

I've been told that FX polish their rifle bores with a black paste and some of this will be left in the barrel. I was advised to clean the barrel thoroughly before shooting. When I told a person in the gun shop he laughed and said I'd been watching too many videos. He had bought an FX recently and just went ahead and used it.

Can you please advise, do I clean or go ahead and shoot it?

Thanks for that. I haven't needed to clean any air rifle before use, but plenty on You Tube say you should, with the FX.

Will probably ignore You Tube and just shoot it from new, cleaning only if accuracy drops off.
