Hunting

Postby Osok on Mon Jun 16, 2008 9:37 pm

Hi there,

Nice to meet others that hunt with the FX.

I normaly don't take pictures of what I shoot with the FX. Murphy' s law kind of thing (take a camera and nothing turns up)!

I'll try to post some stuff in the near future. For the moment my boar from 2 months ago.

Thanks,

I shot it from a high seat at about 21.30 hours from approx. 50 meters with 7x64 caliber Sauer luxus. It took one lung and two headshots to kill. Can you believe how strong they are?

Regards,

Marc

Hopfully after midsummer i do the last bit of my hunters exam, then it's a class 1 weapon.
Wild boar hunting is big here. Seems to of been a population explosion in the last 5-6years.
It's also the only prey that is hunted all year round here, well pigs up to a year old any way.
Nice shooting!!

Believe it or not, there are people here in New Zealand that hunt wild pigs with just a couple of dogs and a knife!

The idea is that the dogs keep the pig occupied whilst the hunter sneaks in and cuts it throat.

I definitely don't have the balls for that!

I know a young couple how are both hunters in the UK. They went to New Zeeland to try out boar hunting with dogs and knives. They had to carry the killed boar on their backs to get back to the lodge. :D

There is a cross next to our main hunting lodge!

This guy was killed by a wild boar during a driven hunt 3 years ago. He shot a 150 kg male. His guide told him to wait 10 minutes before approaching it. He was an young and eager tourist and went to have look anyway. Need I say more...........

This last year, there have been a few hunters killed by bears up here!.
A lot more have been lucky to talk about it after. It appears they have been waking up from hibernation early, and well they are hungry and crankey!.
