I thought as much but was worried about cleanliness and degradation. Obviously any basic rubber product will degrade over time leaving bits to work their way through your rifle. The radiator hose is unlikely to do that but is it clean enough. The clear vinyl can easily be cleaned prior to insertion. I'm just concerned cos my S410 is in bits at the moment after something (from the prior owner I suspect) got through the system and ruined the seal on the transfer port.

What a stunningly simple yet effective brainwave. As Ian said, best results will be acheived if it is not fitted precisely half way as each half would then have similar resonances. About 2/3rds~3/5ths of the internal length would be best. Similar logic to helicopter tail drive shafts or vehicle prop shafts etc.

I had a spare piece of reinforced tube laying about which originally came from a hydraulic specialist supplier - every city has a few of them places. 1.5" of it is now in my cylinder while it's off waiting for a reply on another thread here.

Many thanks for this gem. Is there a thumbs up smiley available?
