mk2 verminator smoothtwist pellet?

Postby tomsteebo on Thu Nov 21, 2013 9:54 am

hi,

got a 12ft mk2 and i have been struggling with tight groupings.

i have used all h&n's
jsb's
aa's
crosmans
and a few more and the crosmans 10.5gr magnums work the best/equal to baracuda match. this is about a 13mm group at 25yards rested 10shots in .177.

any ideas?

Tried any of the RWS range? My gun isn't smoothtwist, but will shoot the Superfield well

Getting pellet on pellet at that distance with JSB 4.53 with a Vermy Mk1 & a Bobcat (both with S/T barrels), I tried using 4.52 & the groups opened up like a flower  Both have now got upwards of 2 tins of pellets through them & not been cleaned

I'm a bit late to the party on this thread, but having (literally) tried dozens of different pellets in my fussy Verm Mk2 .22 smooth twist barrel, I've found that the JSB Exact Jumbo Express 14.35gr in 5.52 give superior results out to 60mtrs.

They provide a decent increase in fps and in turn a flatter trajectory against the usual mid to heavy .22 pellets; they also retain a really good level of kinetic energy on impact... see for yourself on chairgun.

I've used just over four tins of them to date in my Verm for target and hunting and wouldn't consider anything else now.

Atb,
Darren.
