Logun Solo - silencer help (new owner)

Postby adez on Wed Sep 15, 2010 11:44 pm

Hello guys.

My first post - apart from an introduction one earlier today.
Anyway, just received my Logun Solo today! Happy days!
It is second-hand but all seems OK and shoots well.
i got a fill adapter (but need rubber O rings for it) and a multi shot converter/mag (but no idea how it fits yet!) LOL.

There is a small moderator (silencer) fitted to the rifle, but it's not really that good at all.
I have a carbon fibre Logun silencer on my Air arms S400 and it is whisper-quiet.
Can anyone tell me the thread fitting I need for a silencer to fit this barrel AND maybe recommend the best silencers for it from experience?

Any tips, hints or pointers would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
All the best, adez.

Except from Korean guns, they all tend to use 1/2" UNF thread. The "best" silencer differs. Weihrauch silencers are good, but tend to get damaged when used on very high power guns (which you don't have, mind...I mean "very" high power). Daystate Reflex silencers also work well and don't lenghthen the setup as much. Downside, they're expensive.

I'd get a Weihrauch one.

The magazine you likely have is slid over the breech and secured using two grub screws . It's not hard to attach, but it's not easy to explain in words either :) But I'll try anyway:
1) Remove the scope
2) Remove the single shot tray
3)Slide the magazine into the breech, with the plastic "U" shaped thingie faced towards the tail end of the gun. Slide it all the way down (make sure the grub screws aren't in the way)
4) Secure the screws, but don't overtighten. The soft aluminium of the breech is easily damaged with indents or scratches.
5) Reattach the scope
6) Load up the magazine and start shooting!

Just to add to PW's excellent reply, The Korean Career 707 uses an M10 x 1mm pitch thread, as do the Brocock Hunter pcp's.

I also have a few Weihrauch and Logun silencers, if you are going to use one on your 177 Solo, small gains can be made on the sound level by removing the baffles (normally suited for both calibres) and replacing them with baffles with slightly smaller holes through their centres, but if this is a lot of trouble these silencers works well as they are.
